Jessica Lucas (born September 24, 1985) is a Canadian actress. She is known for her role as Lily Ford in Cloverfield, which was released in January 2008. Before that she had a minor role in the TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and the movies She’s the Man, and The Covenant, in both of which she co-starred with Laura Ramsey. She also starred as Sue Miller in the 2004–2005 ABC Television Series Life As We Know It. She has landed the role of Riley Richmond, a grammar school teacher in the update of “Melrose Place”.

 

Biography

Lucas was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She has been acting since she was only seven years old, receiving professional training with Children’s Theatre Arts. She earned theatre credits in local productions of Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs, Grease, Cinderella, Mousetrap and Music Medley. She was also a series regular on the popular Canadian teen show Edgemont, along with Kristin Kreuk and Grace Park. And she was on a show called 2030 C.E.

Lucas joined the cast of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in its 2007 season, playing a new character, Ronnie Lake. The character appeared in four episodes of the eighth season, and for a time it was rumored that her character would be the permanent replacement for Jorja Fox’s character, Sarah Sidle, especially when Sidle, before leaving the team, left a note on Lake’s locker wishing her luck on the season finale. Despite this, the character was written out of the series without any explanation. Lucas also had a brief stint on the The CW Series 90210 as Kimberly MacIntyre. In 2009, Lucas was cast as Riley Richmond on the CW series Melrose Place.
